CLAIMS PROCEDURE
What do I do?
In the event that you need to claim against your
policy, whether it be a motor accident, or loss or
damage to property, the team will endeavour to
process the claim as quickly and efficiently as
possible, putting you back into the position
before the loss or damage occurred.
Claims do differ. Please read below and follow the
appropriate guideline for your cliams, as they will
assist us in settling your claim speedily and
efficiently.
MOTOR ACCIDENT CLAIM
•
Report the theft to SAPS immediately & obtain a Case Reference Number.
•
Complete the Motor Theft claim form in full sign and Fax (031 764 0590)
or Email it to us.
•
Locate keys, remotes & spare keys.
•
Locate Certificate of Registration (should never be kept in the car) Fax
(031 764 0590) a copy to us.
•
Obtain in writing the settlement amount from your Finance company.
•
Attach copy of the last service invoice if possible.
•
Attach any documentation to support non factory fitted extras.
MOTOR THEFT CLAIM
At the accident scene try to obtain the following details :
•
Date, Time, Place of accident.
•
Third Party's Name, address, telephone number, ID No: description of their
vehicle ie make, model, registration number, extent of damage to their
vehicle.
•
Do not admit liability or blame for the accident to anyone.
•
Where possible obtain details of independent witnesses to the accident.
WINDSCREEN & GLASS CLAIM
•
Complete Claim Form in full and Fax (031 764 0590) or Email to us.
•
Obtain quotes for replacement & attach copies of invoices, instruction
manuals of the items as proof of ownership.
•
Cell phone claims if lost or stolen must be reported to SAPS and Blacklist
the phone with the service provider. Blacklisting confirmation to be faxed
to us.
•
All crime type losses must be reported to SAPS this is a Law requirement
and not just for insurance purposes.
PROPERTY LOSS OR PROPERTY DAMAGE CLAIM
•
Contact us, and we will advise you as to the procedure, and which
fitment centres are authorised to do the repair or replacement.
•
Check with us first as in some instances an excess is not applicable.
•
If an excess is applicable, you will make payment to the fitment centre.

Passengers in your vehicle are not recognised by law, as independent
witnesses.
•
Report the accident to SAPS within 24 hours and obtain a case reference
number from SAPS. This is a requirement by law not only for insurance
purposes.
•
Fully complete the Motor Accident Claim form and Fax (031 764 0590) or
Email back to us together with a legible photocopy of your Drivers license/ID.
•
If your vehicle can be driven obtain a quote from a SAMBRA member
Repairer/Panel Beaters. If you do not know of any contact us we will provide
you with a list of repairers in your area.
•
Arrange with us to take the vehicle to repairer for assessment and
authorization of repairs by the Insurer.
•
If the vehicle is not drivable arrange for the vehicle to be towed to Panel
Beaters/Repairers.
•
Towing costs are included as part of your claim.
•
On collecting the vehicle after repairs completed you must pay the excess to
the Panel Beater/Repairer.
•
Insurers will pursue recovery of your excess where possible.
•
Should your vehicle be towed to a towers yard or Panel Beater that you don't
know you must find out where the vehicle is as soon as possible as storage
charges could be charged for the period the vehicle is there. The vehicle
should be moved to the repairers premises as soon as possible after the
accident.
